The UCF School of Visual Arts & Design proudly announces two winners of the 2016 J.R. Hopes Art Scholarship. This year’s recipients are Kirkland Macy and Robert Shirley.
Kirkland Macy is a sophomore specializing in drawing and experimental animation. With a strong interest in designing and modelling characters and creatures, he is aiming for a career in the movie or video game industry.
Robert Shirley is a junior with a specialization in painting. He is a nature lover with plans to pursue plein air painting and illustration.
The Hopes Scholarship was established to encourage talented art students with financial need in the arts to further their art careers. Each winner will receive a $3,000 scholarship for the 2016-17 academic year. This scholarship may be used to pay for tuition, textbooks, fees and any other items included in the cost of an art education.
