Meet the CAH Staff Honorees

Jon Bowen, Nicholson School of Communication and Media

Jon Bowen has worked as a broadcast production specialist at CAH for seven years. His recommender calls him “one of the most resourceful and committed staff members to the Department of Film and Mass Media and the Nicholson School as a whole.” Throughout his service, Bowen has shown unparalleled commitment to his work and to the college. His recommender describes him as having a “rare combination to find in a staff member,” with his professional experience in film, his education and training, and his technical skills making him a great asset.

Meghan Crowther, Department of English

Meghan Crowther has worked in the Department of English for four years. Her calm determination and kind demeanor helped her department complete many tasks, including the move of many faculty and staff to the new Trevor Colbourn Hall building. Her recommender writes, “Meghan is, to put it simple, a marvel. Her initiative and her sense of responsibility, her insight and her meticulousness and accuracy have made her invaluable to the department.” In her second nomination letter, she is praised for her positive attitude and commitment. As one of the faculty members in her department puts it, “Meghan is the glue that keeps us together.”

Dr. Amy Giroux, Center of Humanities and Digital Research

Giroux has worked for the Center of Humanities and Digital Research for almost four years. Prior to her arrival, the center had limited abilities to support faculty and student research. Her recommender writers, “She has worked to support the center’s initiatives on weekends and late into the night.” She has hosted the Humanities, Arts, Science and Technology Alliance and Collaboratory (HASTAC) conference, has been central to success of the Veteran’s Legacy Program, and is currently working on at least 17 projects across the college. Overall, Giroux had seven supporters of her recommendation, all detailing her commitment and eagerness to help in their projects. One of her supporting letters describes her as an “essential staff person who helps faculty move their projects forward.”
