Recent UCF Digital Media Graduates Peter Milko, Percy Legendre IV and Sean Pinnock just released their video game Blacksea Odyssey for early access on Steam.

Blacksea Odyssey is a violent top-down rogue-lite space shoot ‘em up RPG brimming with colossal creatures and runic technologies. In the game you can explore dangerous, interstellar spacescapes as you hunt enormous space-behemoths with a harpoon and rune-infused spears, unlock fierce space-huntsmen and collect runes to customize your spear and space-board to hunt as you please in the deadliest competition in the universe – the Blacksea Odyssey!

The recent grads teamed up at the Global Game Jam 2015 where they first prototyped the concept for Blacksea Odyssey. The simple prototype received positive feedback from the local community and the team decided to pursue the idea. Over the next two months, the team built an advanced prototype to pitch to indie publishers. Blacksea Odyssey generated interest within the industry and the studio teamed up with independent publisher Mastertronic to ultimately publish Blacksea Odyssey on Steam.

Steam is one of the largest digital distribution platforms with over 125 million active users in 2015. Steam is developed by Valve Corporation offering digital rights management, multiplayer, and social networking services. Steam provides the user with installation and automatic updating of games on multiple computers, and community features such as friends lists and groups, cloud saving, and in-game voice and chat functionality.
