E. Brady Robinson spoke at the Luce Foundation Center at the Smithsonian American Art Museum on Sunday, January 8th, exploring the immediacy of capturing images made possible by modern technology. Robinson examined early landscape paintings on view in the Luce Center in relation to her own work.
The discussion was presented as part of a series that collaborates with Flashpoint Gallery to highlight works in the museum’s collection.
E. Brady Robinson received her BFA in photography from The Maryland Institute, College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland and her MFA in photography from Cranbrook Art Academy in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Her photographs have been exhibited nationally at the Orlando Museum of Art, Corcoran Gallery of Art, and Florida State Museum. Select collections include: Corcoran Gallery of Art, Orlando Museum of Art and Spanish Cultural Center in Santo Domingo. Robinson’s work was recently on exhibit and won Grand Prize in the American Life exhibition curated by Larissa Leclair in the 2011 Lishui Photography Festival in China. She maintains a studio in Central Florida and Washington, DC.
