On May 1st, 2017, a few of our faculty and students came together for the “I Am UCF” showcase. The showcase was put on by Stephanie Wheeler and Natasha Jones as part of the Quality Enhancement Plan grant, and was organized by our department as well as with Theatre, Digital Media, and the Social Justice and Advocacy center.
The goal of the event was to reveal the diversity of students on campus. Several UCF students were featured, and told their stories in digital format, using all of the skills that they have learned, along with elements of performance. Some of Dr. Wheeler’s “Writing Across Difference” students from last semester presented their final class projects. The students who represented our department included Gabrielle Dinardo, Tori Leeworthy, and Hannah Watkins.
We are very proud of the faculty and students of our department who took part in this event, and continue to look forward to the many accomplishments that lie ahead.
