In the next month, the College of Arts and Humanities will offer a wide variety of information sessions and open houses related to our various degree programs, from experimental animation and character animation to themed experience and musical theatre. Whether they take place online or in person, all information session and open houses require advance registration.

SVAD Virtual Info Session

Friday, Sept. 17 at 9:30 a.m.

The SVAD Advising team will give an overview of the programs offered in UCF’s School of Visual Arts and Design (SVAD) during this virtual information session. Information Session: Experimental Animation Track

Friday, Sept. 17 at 3 p.m.

Learn about the newly revised curriculum and portfolio, available resources and important information about the track. This session will be presented by Program Coordinator Matt Dombrowski. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.

Spanish Master’s Program: Information Session

Thursday, Sept. 23 at 6 p.m.

Learn about the master’s program in Spanish, funding and career opportunities, and meet students, faculty and staff.

Studio Art Portfolio Information Session

Friday, Sept. 24 at 3 p.m.

SVAD drawing and design faculty along with the SVAD advising team will give an overview of the Studio Art Portfolio Review process. They’ll also go into detail about the registration process, course requirements, examples of work to include in your portfolio and what reviewers will be looking for as well as helpful tips for submitting your work. A short Q&A session will follow the presentation.

Themed Experience MFA/MS Information Session

Monday, Sept. 27 at 6 p.m.

Join UCF School of Performing Arts professor Peter Weishar for an informational discussion about the track in the Theatre MFA program and the new MS degree. Topics during this session include defining themed experience, background on Peter Weishar, track curriculum and application information. A short presentation about the program will be followed by a Q&A.

Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Master’s Program Information Session

Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 6 p.m.

Learn more about the MATESOL (Masters of Arts Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Certificate, meet faculty and ask questions.

History Grad Fair & How to Get Into Grad School Workshop

Thursday, Sept. 30 at 3 p.m.

History faculty members will offer guidance on how to apply for graduate school, give advice about how to write your personal statement, and make suggestions about what you can do as an undergraduate to prepare for graduate school.

BFA Musical Theatre Open House

Saturday, Oct. 2 at 9 a.m.

Interested in a pursuing a career in musical theatre? The BFA Musical Theatre Virtual Open House is open to all students, family and teachers interested in learning more about auditions, life on campus and financial aid.

This info session is intended for Emerging Media BFA PENDING students.
During this information session, SVAD emerging media faculty along with the SVAD advising team will give an overview of the emerging media degree program and its various tracks. A short Q&A session will follow the presentation.
