As self-driving cars grow in popularity and testing throughout the world, some have questioned the effects on local economies and industries. Others, like UCF Department of Philosophy’s Dr. Jonathan Beever and his colleague Dr. Stephen Kuebler, question the ethics programmed into these automatons. In a real-world Trolley Problem, who would a self-driving car save: the driver or the pedestrian?
