Students and faculty in the School of Performing Arts and the College of Nursing discussed their collaborative efforts to bring theatre to hospitalized children with News Channel 6.
Bruce and Jeffrey Gould created the Jeanette M. Gould Traveling Theatre Fund at UCF as a way to honor their mother’s love of theatre and respect for the nursing profession. Most recently, students in the theatre studies program in partnership with the College of Nursing were able to bring the magic of theatre to Nemours Children’s Health.
UCF Associate Professor Elizabeth Horn recognizes the power of theatre “to bring joy, to bring laughter, to bring a sense of belonging and a sense of community” to patients and hopes to expand the program to more hospitals.
