Just in time for Veterans Day, a free UCF concert will honor soldiers with a world-premiere piece of music written in Florida and inspired by men who died in battle a century ago.
“Reflections on the Last Post,” written by Lakeland composer Howard Buss, will debut at Thursday’s concert at the University of Central Florida. A concerto for clarinet and other woodwind instruments, the piece will feature a solo by Keith Koons, a UCF professor since 1990 who initiated the work after visiting a World War I memorial in Belgium.
