On Tuesday, November 9, UCF hosted the Veterans Salute, a ceremony honoring veteran students and staff. In addition to the planting of 1,400 American flags on Memory Mall, the ceremony featured speeches from community members including Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy.
“To the service members and veterans here today, a heartfelt thank you,” Murphy said. “Thank you for the sacrifices you make to defend our country. Veterans fought fiercely for this country, and now UCF is doing a great job fighting for them.”
Murphy attended the event and toured UCF’s Veterans Academic Resource Center as part of her ongoing efforts to support service members and veterans in Central Florida.
