The latest issue of PDN Edu magazine features a profile of the UCF-Daytona State photography program and its relationship with the Southeast Museum of Photography.
Photo District News reviewed three photography programs with connected and dedicated museums, placing UCF’s partnership with Daytona State College among lofty company. The other featured pairings are the International Center of Photography in New York, and George Eastman House with Ryerson University in Syracuse.

The UCF–DSC partnership allows students to develop a solid foundation in photography while earning an Associate of Science in Photographic Technology degree at Daytona State College. Upon completion, students can flow seamlessly into UCF’s Bachelor of Science in Photography program housed at Daytona State. The joint program offers a holistic education which incorporates strong technical, creative, and critical skills to empower graduates for life-long success in a variety of professional photographic fields.
The Southeast Museum of Photography is a vibrant museum with an impressive international reputation of leadership for photography exhibitions, publications and educational programming. The museum opened in 1992 and is one of 13 facilities in the U.S. dedicated exclusively to photography, and one of only a handful of such institutions nationally that share a scope, reach and depth of collection and activities in the field.
