Random Act Records presents From Memphis to Mobile, a new album from Jeff Rupert. Rupert, a master saxophonist, is featured in quartet and duet settings, with accompaniment from John Jenkins (drums) and virtuoso pianist Kenny Drew, Jr. as well as fellow UCF faculty members Richard Drexler (bass) and Lyman Brodie (flugelhorn). While continuing the tenor legacies of Lester Young and Stan Getz, Rupert charts his own path, with a gorgeous tone and inspired improvisations.
