Even with the difficulties posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, students and faculty members in the School of Performing Arts’ dance department have found creative ways to express themselves.
“The masks cover from the nose down which can make breathing a challenge,” said Danel Le Roux, a kinesiology major with a dance minor. “But, it gave us dancers a good push to get creative with our storytelling and artistry.”
While COVID-19 kept dancers from performing in front of live audiences, it also gave them the ability to express their emotions and feelings through movement.
“The pandemic was definitely hard. But one thing that got me through it was my support system and creating,” said Cindy Heen, adjunct faculty member of dance.
