Command X has been described as the “Hunger Games” of the design world. One week before the AIGA conference, the chosen competitors are notified and given a design challenge with 6 days to submit a three-page PDF. On the first day of the conference, the designers get on stage in front of 2000+ attendees and a panel of judges. After the first round of presentations, the audience votes. The remaining five designers have 24 hours to complete a brand new challenge. At the next presentation, two more are cut, before the process is repeated once more to crown a champion.

Command X is hosted annually at AIGA’s conference. This year’s event was held October 17-19 in Las Vegas AIGA is the design industry’s oldest and largest professional organization—with 70 chapters and more than 25,000 members.
