The University of Central Florida is one of the nation’s top destinations for aspiring animators according to Animation Career Review.

UCF’s School of Visual Arts and Design is ranked #10 nationally and #3 in the southern region.

UCF offers an impressive 13 bachelor’s degree programs, 3 master’s degree programs, and 5 minors for artists of all kinds. Among them are a number of unique options for animation students.

Undergraduate programs include a B.F.A. in Character Animation, B.F.A. in Experimental Animation, B.F.A. in Film, and B.A. in Film – Cinema Studies. Master’s degree programs include an M.F.A. in Emerging Media with tracks in Digital Media and Studio Art & Computer, M.F.A. in Film – Entrepreneurial Digital Cinema, and M.A. in Digital Media – Visual Language & Interactive Media. Minors include Digital Media and Film – Cinema Studies.

Animation Career Review began compiling their rankings in 2012 as a resource for aspiring animators. The criteria include academic reputation, admission selectivity, depth and breadth of program and faculty, value and geographic location.

UCF’s animation programs are on the rise, having been ranked #27 in the U.S. and #5 in the south in 2013.
